Rising Electricity Rates

Ontarian electricity costs increased by $168 per year from 2013 to 2014. It is expected that they will continue to rise by roughly $384 annually by 2017!

The price of electricity is set to rise steadily in Ontario over the next 20 years. With more substantial increases through 2018.

The provinces long-term energy plan, released in December 2013, projected a 42 percent rise in home power bills by 2018. It is expected that electricity bills will rise by 68 percent by 2032. The cost of industrial enterprises will also rise, by 33 percent in the next 3 years and 55 percent in the next 20.
